Exciting Opportunities in 2016

Dear members and friends,

We thank you for your support in 2015 and are looking forward to coming together as a community with greater impact and voice in 2016.

This year, we are asking for articles or opinion pieces to be submitted for publication on this website. Suggested topics include law reform, tips on how to manage work/life balance in the law, the refugee crisis in Australia and the intersection between faith and law.

If you are interested in having your voice heard, please submit a short outline (50-100 words) of your proposed article to secretary@clsvictoria.org and our team will get back to you.

In 2016, we are also looking forward to revising our membership processes, planning our Annual Dinner and Meet the Profession events and engaging with the legal community on a larger scale. If you are interested in volunteering to assist in future VCLS events, please let us know.

In the meantime, below are a few upcoming events we hope you will mark in your diaries and take the opportunity to attend.

Blessings,

VCLS Committee

Conference – Witness: Word and Deed

The gospel is good news for all, and working in the legal community has its own challenges and opportunities for gospel witness. Our friends at City Bible Forum/Life@Work are tackling this very issue at their annual conference, Witness: Word and Deed – witnessing to the love of Jesus at work in a way that’s realistic, holistic, and exciting.

This is a great opportunity to meet others in the profession and talk honestly about the joys and challenges of working as a lawyer. Speakers include Masterchef winner Kate Bracks, and one of Australia’s finest (and funniest) evangelists, Dr Sam Chan.
